[NU Sports] Delaney beaten to the punch: Pac-10 has added Colorado

Yup.

Rutgers has been touting their stellar Academic Progress Report score as indication that they have the academic commitment to qualify for the BT.

They have already demonstrated success on the football field and their demographic contribution to the BT Network has been well documented on this list.

If it happens, it would be the crowning achievement for their board who committed the bucks to transform this sleepy regional college into a national power.

Jeff

I don't think Delaney was necessarily beaten to the punch here -- I don't think we really were eyeing the Buffs.

It's more of a survival move for the Buffs - they wanted to accept the invite before the Texas legislature tried to force their hand to accept Baylor.

So the eyes are now on Texas ... not sure about the report that they're looking into the Big Ten, but they'd certainly find an open door if they did. They may be scrambling now that two schools have defied their orders to stay under their thumb in the Big XII. :)

I think Delaney will leave Mizzou and KU dangling right now and focus on the Irish and eastward.

And if we wait, we wait. We have 12 now, a pretty balanced football league and one heck of a title game coming to Indy (I assume) or Soldier Field (outdoors!!!). A little too much red in the league for my taste, but this is a pretty good move for the league. Much better than just adding Mizzou to get to 12.

Wake up, Irish!
GO CATS!!!
