I was chatting with a neighbor about this tonight, a Nebraska-native who
attended Army (and was Field Artillery, king of the battlefield). He was
quick to point out that Nebraska has the most Academic All-Americas in the
country. That was easy enough to check:

All-Time Academic All-Americas (all divisions and classifications):

1. 271 - Nebraska
2. 214 - Notre Dame
3. 162 - Penn State
4. 161 - MIT
5. 140 - Stanford
6. 132 - Augustana
7. 119 - Bucknell
8. 118 - Texas
9. 114 - Emory
10. 113 - UCLA
16. 100 - Michigan
16. 100 - Michigan State
20. 96 - Purdue
21. 95 - Wisconsin
21. 95 - Minnesota
24. 89 - Northwestern
24. 89 - Illinois

Eight Big Ten schools in the Top 25 (now nine).

the COllege Sports Information Directors of America. And I expect that
getting on this list depends on a lot of things, including being nominated.
