I was growing up in Omaha around the time the red people emerged like
weekend cicadas. As a prep school kid counting the days until I
could escape to the big city (any big city) I thought it fairly
pathetic and obsessive.
Now when I head to a football game, I pull out my box of purple stuff
and make sure everyone in our party is properly atired.
Hooray football!!
