They've won at least two NCAA women's volleyball championships in the
last decade, have gotten to the women's softball CWS a few times and have
several recent national championships in bowling (both mens and womens,
I think). A Husker bowler was the first person ever to roll a 900 series.
The women's basketball team made the NCAA Final Four this year, and the
women's soccer team has made it to the semi-finals of the NCAA tournament
a few times.
As for men's basketball, a former NU coach said it best when he said he had
the greatest job in the country, because nobody even knew he was alive
until the 2nd week in January each season, after the bowl games ended.
The basketball team will be moving to a new downtown arena that the
voters (foolishly IMHO) approved bonds for last month.
The wrestling program has never won the NCAA team title (that I recall)
but they have had a number of individual NCAA champions.
The baseball team made the CWS 3 times in the last decade, but really
struggled this year.
I think they've had a fair number of track and field individual champions,
and possibly some national indoor team titles, too.
The men's swimming and diving teams were discontinued a while back, the
women's teams are fairly competitive, I believe.
The men's gymnastics team won five consecutive NCAA Championships in the
70's (I think Illinois is still the only other team to do so), and they've
had some individual event champions in the last decade.
