[NU Sports] A sign of respect?

Personally, I have high hopes for Mr. Persa.

I followed his recruitment since I could see what he was doing on the field at his HS. He
was nothing short of spectacular both as a QB, but also as a Safety. He always found a way
to move the ball towards the goal line, and he usually scored either himself, or thru the
air, or the ground.

My only regret is that I haven't really seen him in practice, or in the scrimmages. The
kids now are much faster than he saw in HS, but he should have adjusted by now. Those
first 2 or 3 games are critical. If he's got the line up front, he'll be able to adjust to
the NU game on the field and we'll be talking the next coming of an NFL QB.

Good thing is that he's got a more experienced group of linemen in front, and many of the
WR's are back. Yes, they'll probably have different roles in 2010, but we're not changing
everyone on the offense. Kafka will be missed, but I think Persa is a better spread QB.

We'll see.

Go Cats!

Oh, but it's such a great sign of the times when a rebuilding year
expectations are for a low of 7-5. Look how far we have now come and the
new expectations that Fitz is not just operating under but has built for the
team and the fans. 7-5 used to be a goal for a good year and now it's a
disappointing goal for a rebuilding year. I, for one, am optimistic for a
better year due in part to that schedule and to the expectation (hope?) that
Persa will be able to take command of the offense.
