... for $500, Alex.
We're nearing the six-week mark, folks! I'm starting to get that extra rush going hearing college football reports in the news and anticipating the season. Glad that Vandy's at night but the broadcasting stinks. That might be a problem with only five true home games this year. :(
Reminder - you can still vote for Coach Fitz on the Big Ten Icons bobblehead competition: http://www.bigtenicons.com/
As for the reports in the news ... most of them seem to be the bad type. The "probation rotation" wheel appears to be spinning again in the SEC ... where it stops, nobody knows (Please be St. Urban! Please be St. Urban!), but I think somebody's about to get nailed. Not $C nailed, but hit nonetheless. And I can't believe I'm saying it, but I kind of agree with Nick the Prick at Bama ... make the NFL wait until the combine unless they're going to start taking action against agents who break these rules. The colleges really can't do much and putting a school on probation once the kid leaves for millions is pointless as well. But still, somebody nail Urban!:)
One more random comment on topics out there - dunno about the parking at Vandy, but after driving around Pac 10 land this summer, I can say that there appear to be MUCH worse places than Dyche to get to! Not ASU here in Phoenix, which has ample parking right next to a major freeway, but when I was up by the Bay Area visiting my brother, I figured I'd check out Cal for the (2013?) trip ... lovely campus but it's miles and miles from any freeway and no real thoroughfare to get there - plus not much parking once you do. Forget tailgating and BART it, I guess. Then in Tucson, I drove around Arizona's campus. Again, nice place and I like the big ole' stadium too ... but you'll have to drive a bit off the freeway to get there and parking is limited to a few multi-level lots.
Bottom line - two things from this summer: First, I now understand why Pac 10 fans look at you funny when you suggest tailgating before a game and second, it could be a lot worse than driving to Dyche for a football Saturday (though at least they don't have to deal with Badger or Hawkeye fans setting up in their lots :) ).
Six weeks!!!
GO CATS!!!
