Wow ... the world must be coming to an end if I am the one NOT wearing the rose-colored glasses on the list!:)

I would LOVE 10-3 or even 8-4 ... but I just don't see it with ...

* A new quarterback
* An unproven ground game
* A defense replacing their top two players
* A schedule with only five true home games
* An opening game in SEC country

I hope I'm wrong ... one game at a time, right? But I think 7-5 is a far more realistic goal for the coming year and we might have to take 6-6.

Breaking it down by month ...

SEPTEMBER: A 3-1 start is CRUCIAL to any bowl hopes, but with games AT Vanderbilt and Rice, that's not a given. Central Michigan won't be a cakewalk either.

OCTOBER: This is our make-or-break month. Gotta defend home turf in HUGE games with upstart Purdue and pesky MSU. Then we need to get at least one road win at Indiana and Minnesota - preferably both.

NOVEMBER: I loved the way we finished last year, but it will be a tough feat to duplicate with visits to Happy Valley and Camp Randall and Iowa coming into town looking for revenge. That Illini game at Wrigley may be the Zooker fighting for his life (i.e. going for it on 4th and 13 all the time), so we do not want it to come down to that.

I think 7-5 is a reasonable expectation and spending the holidays in Phoenix.

Whatever the case, great to have football right around the corner!

GO CATS!!!
