[NU Sports] East-West Shrine Game

I love the diversity in thought on this list...

There a many QBs in college, who are proven winners, who will never get a shot at playing on Sunday. There are what, 113 Div I programs, and another 70 or so (maybe more) Div I-aa and half of them who are seniors graduated with a winning record. Some have playing to a 750 record, with high marks for passing, etc.

The problem is that being the starting QB on an NFL team is being one of what 30? And how many teams can use a new QB next year, maybe 15.

To that end, I like Kafka's chances - even though I was not a big Kafka fan when the season started.

The story the Chicago papers are hoping for is that Kafka is drafted by the Bears and wins the 2nd spot (with Baz as #3). The starter goes down in the 3rd game, and Kafka, backed by Baz, gets daBares to the playoffs.

Hey, a kid from New Jersey, who transferred from Pitt to Delaware did it. And his backup has a Heisman

Pro Football is a first and foremost a business.

There are some teams (Jacksonville comes to mind) that could get a big boost in fan interest by signing Tebow. His public religious beliefs and built-in fan base would be assets in northern Florida. If he is still on the board by the late second or third round, the bump in ticket sales might easily cover the cost to sign him even if he never gets on the field.

Well put SjT, my post was really about Kafka going first, although all the
biblical references on his face made me think Tebow is a bit too much, I
mean if he had "Allah Akbar" on his face, it would be a different story. I
was really happy to see Kafka do well in Orlando since a lot of schools are,
I am sure, putting pressure on Siemian to decommit and go SEC, or to Iowa
State like that jerk, Shontrelle Johnson. Last week Shontrelle said that if
FSU offered him a scholarship, he would take it, then he said never mind.
