[NU Sports] Yahoo NCAA Projection

Interesting, as I think that this site had Illinois projected as a 12 seed before our game last week.

In any case, in the past, a double digit seed was unusually low for a team from a Big 6 conference, but there are a bunch in these projections:  Mizzou, Maryland, Mississippi State.

The breakdown by conference seems to suppport one site's earlier contention that the Big 10 is only the 5th or 6th strongest conference.  The projection of only one PAC-10 team is pretty amazing, although I'm not familiar with the teams.  It would be shocking if that came to pass.

The Cats' task tomorrow night will be nearly impossible (Sparty favored by 13.5), particularly in light of last year's game, but the work starts right after that.  Seven wins will give us 10 in the conference, and that's not out of the question (6 vs. Iowa, Penn State, Indiana, plus Michigan), but we can't afford a single down game among all of those.

Would be great to go into the Big Ten tourney with a shot.

Go Cats!

Big Ten gets 5 - Purdue (Midwest 3), Michigan St(South 2), Ohio State (East 5), Wisconsin (West 4), Illinois (East 11).  Apparently the 'play-in' nature of the Illinois game in Evanston was not the case.
