No those 2 criteria are not on the Committee's list of reasons. But they have shown before that there may be other reasons to select or not. Witness putting Al McGuire and marquette as the last team chosen in 1977. A nice gesture for his last year. (Lo and behold they win it all)

As for the annual "Fire Bill Carmody" campaign - that depends. Imagine
if (let's pray reverently this is not the case) the Cats don't win
another game.

> While I now feel our chances of making the tourney are a long shot I
still am thrilled that we are even having the discussion. But its seems
clear that we will need to win at least 1 or 2 games that the CW had as
losses and then have a few prayers thrown in as well. I do think if we
are on the bubble we would get in out of sympathy and a perceived
entree to strong chicagoland audience

I wasn't aware that either of those were factors the NCAA selection
committee used.

It seems like this bandwagon has more stops that the #151 bus at rush
hour.
The Cats were never much more than a long shot, especially once Coble
went down,
but perhaps for a change we won't have the annual 'fire the coach'
lynching party
in March.
