[NU Sports] What's the magic number?

20 does not guarantee anything but an NIT bid and there are no gimmees in the BT. Having said that I feel we have a decent but less than 50/50 shot of making the tourney. It feels like we are hanging by a thread. Had we lost last night which we easily could have I would have downgraded our chances to a long shot

Iowa, Penn State, and Indiana sure looked like an almost-certain 6 wins a couple of weeks ago, but there are no gimmes in the Big Ten this year.

Winless Penn State should have beaten Wisconsin in Madison today, blowing a 16 point second half lead and losing in OT.  Iowa played Sparty tough in East Lansing earliee\r this week, and Indiana is improving with every game.

A tough road still to go.

I saw some network had the Big Ten rated as the fifth or sixth toughest conference.  Hard to believe.

Does 20 wins before the Big Ten tournament mean NU is in?

If so six more wins are required. Chicago State is one. That's 15.

A split with Iowa seems reasonable. 16.

Can we count on sweeps of Indiana and Penn State? I say no. PSU tortures NU, esp. at State College. At best 3 out of 4.

Beat Michigan. There's 20.

So any bonus wins like at Minnesota or Bucky Badger just be icing.

Is it that simple?
