[NU Sports] Cats win

Yup.
 
An interesting contrast to the game down in Champybana. 
 
This time we were the ones with foul trouble.  Boy we really struggle on both ends of the floor with Juice on the bench.
 
This was really a gritty win.  Couldn't buy a three for most of the game.  They were gashing us going to the basket, but we hung in there and kept the game close.  It was impressive to see this team rise up at home, grab momentum when it counted, make big shots, make even bigger free throws, and show great poise.  In the end Illinois were the ones making mistakes and NU were the ones taking advantage of them.  Huge change from last year.
 
It was also great to see WR rockin'.  In those last five minutes, we really did have a home court advantage.
 
Carmody proved again that he is a good tactical coach.  Key basket out of a time out to start the run.  Key play late in the game after another time out to break the press using a pass behind the baseline.  
 
By the way, that dominant center that they have and we lack had 14 points and 6 rebounds.  Luka had 9 points and 9 rebounds.  Clearly we're doomed.

It was indeed an excellent win, and one we really needed. We can't afford to lose any home games, and if we could somehow get a win on the road this week (we play at Minnesota and at Mich. State), that would be very special.
