[NU Sports] THE DANCE--2010--Any Place for a Bunch of Wildcats
to Crash?

Tonight was a wire-to-wire rout by OSU. Buckeyes passed patiently and crisply, hit from outside, had a dunk-fest and played tenacious D...while NU never developed any rhythm, made poor decisions and physical errors, couldn't hit shots and was slower and thoroughly outplayed at both ends. And Turner was transcendent. As the old saying goes, you're never as good as your best game or as bad as your worst and this was the Cats' worst. The home team was by far the superior one.
A little offensive uptick late was one of the few bright sides as even though Shurna had big offensive numbers, he made uncharacteristic glaring turnovers, including some that were givebacks right after he'd made steals. If Marcotulio's late three-pointer can get him going, it'd be a big plus, as his confidence needs a boost after his recent struggles.
One to forget in a hurry as it was reminiscent of many mismatches we longtime fans have endured, especially on the road.
Big game vs the Illini coming up and a chance to avenge last month's heartbreaker.

OK, listers, now I'm going to do something that I have warned against--look
ahead to the Tourney (even though I'm the one with the mantra, "One game
at a time"). Inspired by my son's comment the other day that he may go
visit his good friend at Syracuse who invited him to go the East Regionals in
March, I decided to look at the NCAA brackets to see where all of the games
are going to be played this year. For those who want to consider booking
tickets now (to see the 'Cats somewhere), here's the lowdown--from my
vantage point the "DUNKIN DONUTS CENTER" would be ideal (and would be poetic
justice, considering how many runs to "Dunkin D's" (as we called it then) on
Dempster in Skokie my friends and I made from Evanston back in the early
