[NU Sports] Wrigley Field IS Big Enuff for NU Football (?)

I'd argue with the use of the word "highlighted." :)
Does anybody on the list know where Peay is and what he's doing these days? He always seemed like a classy gentleman when we had him as a speaker to NY-area alumni. Had read that he was in the trucking business, but that was a long time ago.
By the way, the first and only win I attended and NU had in my four years as an undergrad was 9/15/79, 27-22 over Wyoming @ Dyche. Next win NU had/I attended was when I was in NU grad school - the record streak-breaker over NIU in '82. And there were two more that year, vs Minn and at MSU.
Best,
Willie

The first college game September 16, 1989 a 48 to 31 loss to air farce as game #2 of an 0-11 campaign during the middle of Francis Peay's tenure.
That season was highligted by the 76-14 debacle vs. MSU, although losing at home to the Ill-whine-i 63-14 was probably worse.
The first win I saw was the following year vs. NIU where we crushed them 24-7 to break a 14 game losing streak.

Eric, you just provided an idea for a new thread: the first football game we ever attended:
For me, my first game was in 1955: SC vs. Notre Dame (yes, evil vs. evil)(and Jon Arnett vs. Paul Hornung).
And, while we're at it, my first NFL game was in 1956: Chicago Cardinals vs. L.A. Rams.
