[NU Sports] Disheartening collapse

Not gonna get too down - yes it's disappointing, but like I said, Hughes was just on fire. We kept him quiet most of the game, but then he hit those deeeeeep threes and you just knew the tide was turning.

As you said, 1-3 could easily be 3-1 ... not an excuse, just reality. We'd have preferred the latter, but we can't be too devastated about being the former.

Illinois was an OT loss at Illinois - a top 20 team who are streaking right now.

MSU is one of the best programs in the country.

And despite never getting much credit (he actually has a winning record vs. Izzo), Bo Ryan may be the best basketball coach in the country. His Wisconsin teams are underrated, but as Duke found out, also as tough as nails.

We have to start winning, yes, but we're not even a quarter into the Big Ten schedule and we're starting with the cream of the crop. We know we can compete with them, but we need that breakthrough win to really get things going. Purdue is daunting, but at home, I like our chances of pulling an upset.

GO CATS!!!
