Good point on losing in the conference tournement. If we go 9-9 and win the 1st game and lose the 2nd, I still think 10-10 is better than 9-9. If we lose and drop to 9-10, then RPI, strength of conference, yada, yada comes into effect. A consumate "bubble" situation.

         GO CATS!! Eric

Not sure when we went from 16 to 18 conf games but in the 70s and 80s we played
8. Perhaps it dropped when the BT tourney was added
lso remember our record will indicate an extra loss from the BT tourney
assuming we don't win it all !) So that an opening round win with a next round
oss adds 1-1 to our overall record.

A few years ago, 3, maybe 4? The Big 10 went from 16 to 18 conference games.
agree with your premise that if we have a winning conference record, as well
s beating Chicago St., there will be no argument if we'll make the NCAA
ornement. If we go 9-9, a win in the conference tournement may be neccessay,
ut there's a long way to go before that discussion occurs. GO CATS!!

Enjoyed watching that comeback very much - certainly more entertaining than the
vens-Pats game that was on at the same time. Michigan is not a great team, and
we had lost today, I wasn't going to feel optimistic about the rest of the
ason. But come from behind we did, and we absolutely have a chance to make to
e tournament this year. I know some Big Ten teams have made it in the past ith
7 or 18 wins, but I'd rather not leave it in the hands of the committee hat
ight not do us any favors. I think that if we make it to 20 wins, we're n. That
eans winning our out-of conference games (as we did with Pan American he other
ight) and going 8-8 in the conference. We can do it! - Jim B._______________________________________________wu-sports
