[NU Sports] Wildcats 68, Michigan 62

I wonder sometimes why you continue to punish yourself with the inevitability of so much disappointment and unhappiness, but then that is the life of an eeyore isn't it?

The reality is that this team, even with injuries, is better this year than most teams in your memory.

They will likely not rise up to your standards or heal your wounds, but at the end of the day, that's not their job.

Their job is to play up to the best of their abilities and commit themselves 100% to plan that Coach Carmody gives them to win the next game on the schedule.

Just as it is your job to croak about how that's not enough and toss nerf darts at those who disagree with you.

For my part, I'm grateful because it would be much less interesting list if we all agreed on everything.

Jeff

"In that context?" Interesting comment. You mean that experiencing 45
years of NU basketball during which time they were inevitably the doormat of
the Big Ten counts for nothing? That we should ignore an NU basketball team
has been ranked in the top twenty-five just once prior to this year (and
that a very short-lived experience)? That we must show faith in a team that
has never been to the NCAA playoffs and has won precious few games in those
rare years when they got an NIT invite? If I'm a "half-empty" guy, then
you're Pollyanna who thinks about the fun of sledding as the avalanche
descends on her. This team is going to have to prove itself on the court
and do so game after game after game, not just one, nice win that it was.
It's time to get it done.

As to your comment about the Princeton offense not requiring a good center,
I can say without a moment's hesitation that you have exactly what you want,
and we'll lose more basketball games because of it.
