[NU Sports] Sports OTHER than the BCS game last night....

I was able to attend the Women's hoops game against Minnie last night while 
 the rest of the world watched the first half of the BCS Championship game, 
and  came away with a few thoughts after a VERY disappointing game.
 
We owned the Gophers in the first ten minutes, putting up 37 points. After  
that we looked like a different team....Last night was a definite "choke." 
We  should have crushed them.
 
It is very odd indeed watching a team that is more likely to hit 3-pointers 
 than uncontested lay-ups and 3 foot jump shots. Our defense and rebounding 
were  fine -- great in fact. Our short-range shooting was abysmal.
 
I will put the lack of purple down to hideous Minnesota weather. My  fellow 
Twins Cities alums better step up for the Jan 26th men's game  though. I 
think I saw six people total in purple. (I was working, and thus could  not 
represent).
 
Bright spot? Meshia Reed (#20) is a FORCE! EASILY the best player on the  
court! We are a different team when she is on the  bench.
