It wasn't a perfect day, unfortunately for NU fans, but there has to be some satisfaction when -- in a span of 30 days -- Big Ten fans can say an ever-so-polite SHOVE IT to ...

* ACC basketball fans
* SEC football fans
* The Moron and the Mimbo in ABC's studio

Despite John Saunders' yearlong script of harping on Big Ten speed and "not winning a Rose Bowl since 2000" and not performing well against the SEC, the facts show differently.

The Big Ten is ...

* 6-4 in the last 10 "real" Rose Bowls that match Big Ten and Pac 10 champ (7-4 in the "modern" era of the Big Televen)
* 6-4 against the SEC in the last 10 Citrus Bowls (5 of the last 6 and 8 of the last 12)
* 4-6 against the SEC in the last 10 Outback Bowls (4-4 since 2003)

The common thread in the bowl season for the Big Ten?
PLAY BIG TEN FOOTBALL!
SHOVE THE BALL DOWN THEIR FRIGGIN' THROATS!!!
CONTROL THE CLOCK! DOMINATE ON D!

* OSU outgained Oregon 319-263 and controlled the clock
* PSU outgained LSU 347-244 and controlled the clock
* WIS outgained Miami 430-249 and controlled the clock

NU followed the script in yardage (621-425) and time of possession, but those five turnovers just killed us.

Hopefully Iowa was watching, controls the ball in Miami and gets the Big Ten another big bowl win despite being huge underdogs yet again like all the others. PLAY BIG TEN FOOTBALL!!!

And it just feels great to shove it down John Saunders' throat, though the Moron & the Mimbo still probably are too dumbstruck to realize what happened to their season long script.
