[NU Sports] Word on the Chat

Maybe I should say "the original."

We started doing an IRC based chat on Rivals over 10 years ago... about 6
years ago, I found the present chat system and put it up on Purple Reign,
thru Scout. 

If other schools do chat during games, it was because of Purple Reign (and
its related network of publishers.)

Now that I'm no longer the "official publisher" I can relate that PR started
the link service AND the official chat during games. It is so long ago, the
dates escape me, but I know we used the original Rival chat system to do it.

Not unique.  At least 2 Texas boards have (or have had) chat during games--
shaggybevo.com and hornfans.com, if you want to check them out.

Still reeling from the loss here in Austin...

Happy new year.  Maybe we'll finally break through for that elusive bowl win
in 2010.
