Texas has (yikes) 13.23 Billion

Minnesota would be a surprising 4th at 2.22 Billion

In fact, the Big Ten (11) has 10 Billion Dollar + endowments

Only Iowa appears to be below that magic cut-off number

Based on CNN/Money website, 62 in the Billion dollar club - the Big Ten would have 11 of those 62.

ork than the ACC or Big East.

And there you go - if it is an academic decision, then Texas will run, not walk, 
o the Big Ten. Other leagues have similar strength at the top (Duke, Vandy, 
al/Stanford) ... but no one comes close in depth. The "states" (OSU/MSU/PSU ... 
specially OSU) would be mid-level or better in other leagues -- and 
ichigan/Wisconsin/Illinois/Minnesota would be top-level ... then the Big Ten 
rings out NU and UC and it's over.
It's interesting that this rumor has been out in the sports media for awhile now 
nd while fans and talk radio have a lot to say, the Big Ten and Texas are 
retty silent. You can bet the folks in South Bend have noticed that as well.
