[NU Sports] Penn State in the Big Ten

I don't ever want to see notre shame invited, much less join our organization of great American Universities.  

- They spurned us last time, proving (for those that needed proof) that athletic interests are number one at that school, and that the wishes of the faculty and academic types can be vetoed by the money grubbing athletic types (goaded (at least partly)) by that worthless traitor, Ara).

- The Big Ten has no room for an 'institution' where athletic interests can veto academic interests.

- We would be lending them OUR prestige, not the other way around.

- 20 years from now, they'll be like DePaul, a forgettable school, with forgettable programs, begging some other conference (the big least ?) to let them join after NBC tires of paying $8 mill for games against Rutgers and Navy, all while Indiana reaps $22 million a year.

We must never compromise on a shameless school, where the football types tell the academic types what to do.

Fellow Wildcat Faithful,
I am really surprised to learn that some people think adding Penn State was a 
istake. I see it as a very positive thing for the conference. Granted, PSU's 
irst year in the conference (1993) was also my first year at NU, so I don't 
emember life without them. 
Having grown up in a New York suburb I was far more familiar with the Penn State 
rand name than the rest of the Big Ten schools. In the New York sports media 
hey pretty much report Penn State and Syracuse scores above any others. I think 
he PSU fans align well with their midwest counterparts and I really don't see a 
ownside. 
I still think the future calls for Notre Dame to join. Imagine if ND and Penn 
tate had both joined in 1993. Would anyone have said that was a bad idea?
