[NU Sports] Penn State in the Big Ten

Fellow Wildcat Faithful,

I am really surprised to learn that some people think adding Penn State was a mistake. I see it as a very positive thing for the conference. Granted, PSU's first year in the conference (1993) was also my first year at NU, so I don't remember life without them. 

Having grown up in a New York suburb I was far more familiar with the Penn State brand name than the rest of the Big Ten schools. In the New York sports media they pretty much report Penn State and Syracuse scores above any others. I think the PSU fans align well with their midwest counterparts and I really don't see a downside. 

I still think the future calls for Notre Dame to join. Imagine if ND and Penn State had both joined in 1993. Would anyone have said that was a bad idea?
