> I think it would be great. It's a great school in every respect.

But one that thinks it can set all the rules, they've bullied the Big 12 into nearly
every policy they could think of that would work to their advantage. (The only real
battle they lost was the one to include Baylor in the Big 12 instead of TCU or SMU,
and they only lost that one because Gov. Ann Richards was a Baylor grad, and she
played hardball better than UT did.)

Doesn't the Big Ten already have at least two schools with that mindset? (Notre Dame
would have had it too, I guess.)

I shed crocodile tears when the NCAA announced that their 'head coach-in-waiting' has
to follow the same recruiting restrictions as their head coach.

Notre Dame would be bad enough, but at least they're a decent geographic fit.
What do ANY of the Big Ten schools have in common with Texas, geographically speaking?
They're a better fit with either the SEC or the Pac 10.

I do get a chuckle out of the idea of the 'Horns having to play late season games
in the snow in Happy Valley, Ann Arbor, Columbus or Madison, though.

BTW, in case anyone asks, I think Nebraska would not be a great fit in the Big Ten,
either, but I don't really expect them to get asked because Nebraska doesn't bring
with it the media market that Texas would, or even Missouri. And don't anybody
make the mistake of thinking that this isn't strictly about money, though I do like
the theory that this is just a sneaky way to get Notre Dame back to the table.
