Maureen and I thought about it in terms of Persa vs. Wadkins.

We have a seat neighbor who says Persa is too short and that Wadkins should start.

With 2 teams with relatively weak defenses and no running attacks it was a battle of quarterbacks and the short guy won.

I thought about the 2 super bowl QBs yesterday as well. Remembering manning beating us in the citrus bowl and Brees beating us in 2000 and also beating Indiana in their final regular season game that year to knock us out of the Rose Bowl

Another interesting side note from yesterday's big game ...

The race for MVP was pretty much between the two QBs in the fourth quarter, with each having an exceptional game.

Heading into Super Bowl XLIV, the SEC and Big Ten had each won 3 of the past 10 Super Bowl MVP awards.

So it was kind of fitting that another Big Ten alum, IU's Porter, sealed the deal for the Big Ten to triumph by picking off Manning and wrapping up the game.

League score card in the last decade of Super Bowl MVPs ...

4 - Big Ten (Brady, Brady, Brees and Holmes)
3 - SEC (Manning, Baby Manning and Ward)
2 - ACC
1 - Big East

Guess that media myth of the Big Ten being light years behind the SEC just keeps getting chipped away at this year.:)
