Yes, SC has grown in academic standing under Sample, but that's not really the issue when it comes to athletes. The term "student-athlete" applies a lot more to UCLA than it ever has at a place like SC.
All of us who went to NU were in dorms with athletes and took classes with athletes. The same is true at UCLA, but rarely so at SC. Unless, of course, you're a female SC student, taking a ballroom dancing class with Matt Leinart.
