Maybe somebody who knows LA better can tell me the difference between UCLA and USC.

Both are semi-academic schools as with both it is possible to get the highest quality of education, but neither are known to "force" it on their otherwise party-centric student body.  They are close geographically.  About the only difference I can see is that UCLA has much better basketball tradition and USC has much better football tradition.

Beyond coaching personality why would a recruit chose one over the other?
