[NU Sports] With political involvement afoot,
prepare for major BCS change

Remember that when Rome started to fall apart, with scandals and financial ruin, the
Caesars placated the masses with bread and circuses.
The problem is they'll be taking our bread, and the circus is in Washington.... <G>

Don't tease me with stories that contain the line "the BCS will cease to exist" ... that's
change I can certainly believe in!:)
Oh well, just a move to please those conservatives in Texas and Utah!:) Wonder if they can
find bipartisanship for that.
In any case, my "libertarian" friend in Korea can rest assured that even if this B-C-Mess
wonderfully went away, I had the next year's worth of essays graded and lessons planned
and every deadline for the newspaper and yearbook was finished, I would STILL find a
bazillion things I'd rather to than golf. Blech.:)
And yeah, I'd probably miss the B(C)S -- it's such an awful compromise, the worst of both
worlds, and such an easy target ... can't imagine something could be worse, but be careful
what you ask for, I guess.
And even the NCAA can't be trusted to run it, with the talk of expanding the March Madness
tournament to try and make it run longer than that interminable baseball season.
But good to see us start the second half off right by beating Michigan to keep taking
steps to get to the NCAA Tourney while it still matters and before it becomes like hockey
where everyone gets in.:)
GO CATS!!!
