It may have had a lot to do with it. The main issue was the fact that Favre's
head hit the ground hard. It was that blow to the head that put him out of the
game. We've all seen plenty of concussions from impacts with warm fields, both
turf and grass, but the freezing turf sure couldn't have helped.

Nice play by Corey in any case--wasn't a dirty hit by any means, but Favre was
pretty helpless in that situation.

It was fun watching them play in those conditions, but I suspect the toll was
heavier than just Favre. I saw Kreutz grabbing a hamstring after rolling on the
ground, another Minnesota player went down with a concussion after taking
Forte's knee to the head--in better conditions, that might not have happened.
One of the Bears players got pretty dinged up after sliding into a cart or
something off to the side of the field on Webb's TD scramble--he was down for
quite a while.

So, I'll bet there was more than the usual amount of bumps and bruises after
that game, and more than you would have seen on a grass field, or at least a
heated turf field.

Looked great on TV though, and brought back pleasant memories of my trip to see
the Cats win at TCF earlier this year.
