I always believed that the Northwestern roots gets mentioned disproportionately is because of all of our alums in the media world whether up front or behind the scenes. I always remember when Musberger and Cross used to do a game together they would chide each other on seeing an NU kid about him being from "Your school"

Yes, it was a clean hard hit but as I feared the first time Brett got hit hard
he was unable to continue. I wonder how much the weather and hard surface
affected that?
Tough way to see a great career possibly end. I hope the last few seasons
don't cause health problems with his post-football life.
I would have rather seen the Bears beat the Vikings WITH Favre and Adrian
Peterson, but I'll take the division title and hopefully 2nd seed in the
playoffs.
Wooten made a few mistakes later on in the game, though it was good to see
him getting some more playing time. I wonder how long it will be before
they stop mentioning his Northwestern roots? You seldom hear anyone mention
Brett Favre's college (Southern Mississippi) or even Jay Cutler's (Vanderbilt)
these days.
The announcers last night kept comparing Cutler to a young Brett Favre, I
think they were overdoing that.
