I am sure there are many kids growing up in Michigan who dream of playing for the maze but I doubt there are more than a few growing up in Chicago that dream of playing for NU.

Good example of the power of the home team.
Here's a smart kid who could have played linebacker at NU for a program
that regularly sends linebackers to the NFL and has a hall of fame
linebacker as the head coach.

He chose instead to stay at home and play for a coach on the hot seat
and a defensive coach that likely will be gone the first of the year.
He said the difference was the Michigan tradition which still runs
strong and deep in this state.
Hopefully Fitz is developing similar loyalty among smart football
players in Chicago.
