Yes, I guess that (fact we would be playing in Tempe or Houston with a healthy Persa) was too painful for me to continue to contemplate.:-)?
?
By the way, along with my good friends, fellow Lister Willie Weinbaum and NU Club of NY "Godfather" Sandy Sacks, and more than 100 alums, parents, etc., I attended "Meet Coach Fitz Night" in NYC.?
?
Our Head Coach?just gets better with age.? His fundamental decency, candor, great sense of humor, and abundant passion for NU and for academic excellence (as well as football primacy) are all palpable.? I told both Fitz and Jim Phillips that I had enjoyed full recovery from Achilles surgery and thought Persa would do even better--and encouraged them to have him contact me, if he needed any encouragement.? Having heard Fitz yet again in person, I don't see him going anywhere--as long as we continue to move towards filling up Ryan Field with Purple, not with visiting fans--something he emphasized (in acknowledging the strides made this year with Phillips' marketing campaign).?? He truly combines the charisma of GB with the intensity and commitment of RW--but he is definitely his own man.? He had us laughing and bursting with pride--sometimes at the same time.? He also expressed total confidence that Coach Hank will solve the problems on "D" for the upcoming game.

With Persa still healthy we probably wouldn't be playing in the
TicketCity Bowl against Texas Tech.
