[NU Sports] Temple - no Bowl bid

Generally I agree that all of these games are exhibition games anyway,
so the pretense of pitting equal teams from competing conferences seems
sometimes to get lost in the wash of attracting schools with enough
paying fans to make everybody money.
I predict, however, that unless and until there is a college playoff,
the number of bowls will expand to meet the demand from fans for
opportunities to travel. So as long as two 6-6 teams can sell out a
stadium that otherwise would have been empty over the holidays, there
will be enough teams and enough basic cable capacity to accommodate.

Sorry, cut and paste error. Should have been:
The BCS games themselves aren't terrible, but could be improved with
some simple
reshuffling. A lot of the other bowl matchups seem particularly
uninteresting,
or look like significant mismatches.
And looking over the bowl pairings, I really do think requiring 7-5,
rather than
6-6, for eligibility makes a lot of sense (although I realize there are
too many
bowls for that to happen at this point).
