I agree that we have no case to jump Ill-noise based on them beating us and league record. But the 6-6 overall mark could scare someone off, so who knows. Plus, I doubt Iowa and Ill-noise fans are too enthusiastic about their bowl this season.
I'm not sure on the Houston vs. Dallas question - I like playing Jan. 1 in the old Cotton Bowl and Dallas, but I think I like the Baylor matchup better. It's not Phoenix (though that could be an awful matchup for the Big Ten this year as the OU/UNL loser could fall there ... or an angry bunch of Cowpokes), but whatever gets us a win.
Last guesstimate on Big Ten bowls ...
* ROSE: Wisconsin vs. TCU - Should be a Badger win
* SUGAR: Ohio State vs. Arkansas - I'd rather watch Bama vs. the Bucks, but I think the Bucks would rather play Petrino's piggies
* CITRUS: Michigan State vs. LSU - Again, I hope Bama goes to Dallas so we get a more favorable matchup here
* OUTBACK: Penn State vs. South Carolina - Great coaching matchup
* GATOR: Michigan vs. Florida - Big names, disappointing years and no D = ?
* INSIGHT: Iowa vs. Oklahoma State - Though if the Sooners win tonight, it could be an early start on the Hawkeye-Husker rivalry that would be great!
* TEXAS: Illinois vs. Baylor - Zzzzzzzzz
* DALLAS: Northwestern vs. Texas Tech - Innovative offenses ... could be fun
Other BCS ...
* FIESTA: Stanford vs. Nebraska - Red & white and black & blue - ouch!
* ORANGE: Virginia Tech vs. West Virginia - Should be an annual game
* TITLE: Oregon vs. Auburn - No D should make for a wild game in the desert
GO CATS!!!
