[NU Sports] WOW!

We saw all those teams last year.
That's what the zone is for.
The challenge we had in the past is that we had to slow the pace down
because we didn't have the firepower to keep up in a high scoring game.
That made it very difficult to come back if we got behind by big
numbers. Now it looks like we do have the ability to keep pace because
we have more folks who can score.
Our zone is going to force teams to make their outside shot, or have the
patience to swing the ball from one side of the court to the other for
the full shot clock to break down our coverage.
I'm willing to take the bet that we win all games where we shoot higher
3 point percentage than our opponent.

The good news is that, at least against a mediocre team, NU can put the
ball in
the hoop better than just about any Cats team I've seen in 25 years of
watching
NU b-ball.
The bad news is they looked really, really bad on D at times, at least
in the
first half. Some of that comes with the up-and-down, quick-scoring
nature of
last night's game, but the D will need to be much, much better to
compete in the
Big 10.
Granted, GT has some players who showed a talent for taking it to the
rim, but
the Big 10 is loaded with guys like that.
