Time Warner Cable and Disney (which owns ABC, ESPN and who knows what
else these days) are still in negotiations over a new contract, I think
the old one expires tomorrow.
According to the latet reports, the two sides have stopped throwing
rocks at each other and might actually be negotiating. I don't think
either side wants millions of screens going dark on both ABC and ESPN
channels on the first weekend of the football season.
Part of the negotiations are said to be over access to ESPN3.com, so
there's a chance I might be able to watch the Vandy game, since we're
Time Warner Cable here.
The first Husker game is PPV and also an evening game (amazing how often
both teams play at the same time of day), but I'm not going to pay $34.95
to watch them beat up on Compass Point State, I mean, Western Kentucky.
