The seating chart has been released-http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/nw/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/nuwrigleydiagram.pdf
Before I saw the chart, I was thinking of going for the $100 tix, since I figured the relatively "cheap" seats would have terrible sightlines. But now after reviewing the chart, I'm not particularly thrilled. A $100 ticket could have you in prime seats on the 50-yard-line...or you could be in the armpit out by sections 101 and 301. A $75 ticket could have you in great upper deck seats on the 50-yard-line...or in the outfield boonies in section 311.
Seems the only way to guarantee yourself a prime location is to shell out for the $150 tix...and even then you might be in the section behind homeplate, which would be the corner of the endzone.
The way the sections are priced seem rather strange to me, and I'm not happy about the seat selection process being a crapshoot.
That said, this Wrigley game has got me posting on this listserv at an unprecedented frequency after mostly ghosting, so obviously I'm excited. I think it's going to be a great game, and I'll keep my fingers crossed that my seats will be decent.

First, I apologize for kicking off this thread by misspelling the name of alma mater in the subject line. I've fixed it for this message.
I've now had a chance to analyze the season ticket and Wrigley ticket prices a little more carefully. Frankly, I had forgotten how much we'd been paying for season tickets recently, so this year's season ticket will be substantially less, freeing up some cash to blow on the Wrigley game (but not enough to pay for the best Wrigley tickets or anything comparable to my Ryan Field seats).
Season tickets the past two years have been $228 for 7 games, which breaks down as $28 for non-conference games and $36 for conference games (28*3+36*4=228). This year, a season ticket (not including Wrigley) will be $164, which is the same per game price as the past two years, minus one non-conference game and the Illinois game (28*2+36*3=164).
So season ticket holders will save $64 this year before buying their Wrigley tickets. But that's only enough money to buy the cheapest Wrigley seats.
Part of me would prefer to pay the normal $36 price for the Illinois game at Ryan Field and enjoy my normal prime seats that I've worked my way up to over 15 years as a season ticket holder. But part of me thinks the Wrigley game will be a unique experience, and will undoubtedly draw a lot of publicity and excitement for the team. So I'll probably end up blowing $100 per ticket for decent seats, although it remains to be seen what you'll get even for that princely sum, given that $100 only buys mid-level seats. They're supposed to release a seating chart soon.

It's $164 for a standard season ticket now, for five Ryan Field games. This is to allow season ticket holders who don't want to go to the Wrigley game a way to opt out without eating the cost of the Wrigley ticket.
As an aside, to any season ticket holder who does not wish to go to the Wrigley game, I'll gladly buy your allotment!

> Third, ticket prices will range from $50 to $150. That's kind of steep, if you ask me. They say that tickets will be assigned by priority points. But that's bogus. They'll first be assigned by the amount you're willing to spend. And then by priority points. I have excellent seats at Ryan Field. I'm not sure I'm willing to pay more than $50 for NU Football at Wrigley Field, but that will relegate me to the upper deck, endzone, I'm sure.
