Not sure how you can do the 2 division lineup, but at least three schools would be against
and east-west division - dOSU, Mich and State Penn....

At the same time, adding the Irish would make a nice 12 team league.

Jim suggests Notre Dame, Syracuse, and Boston college. If that is the way
the league goes, they would almost have to split the league into East/West
divisions. Assuming logical groupings, this puts a lot of power in the East.
You have Ohio State, Penn State, and Michigan in that division. (Yes,
Michigan has been bad the last several years, but you have to expect they'll
be back.)The West has good teams, but none that have been consistently good
(at least not recently).

West:

Iowa
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Northwestern
Illinois
Notre Dame
Purdue

East:
Indiana
Michigan
Michigan State
Ohio State
Penn State
Syracuse
Boston College

What if the league goes a different direction and chooses Missouri, Notre
Dame, and Pitt? I would personally like that better. I like that the Big Ten
is a mid west league. Penn State never felt right to me, so going any
further East just does not seem right. I'm not sure that solves the balance
of power issue, though. I still think an East/West split makes the most
sense. Maybe you add Purdue to the East and throw Missouri into the West.
That still leaves PSU, U of M, and OSU in the same division.

Does anyone else have suggested divisional break-downs?
