What if the third car is full of USC alums? :) -Joe

I agree, Northwestern has it's share of arrogance, but Duke and Notre Dame
seem to have a much higher percentage of arrogant alums than most schools.

Think of it this way. If there are seats available in three train cars going
from Boston to Baltimore and you tell me one is filled with ND alums, one
with Duke alums, and one with 'none of the above', you have my preference.

Go Cats!

If I ever find any alums that aren't arrogant, they need to get sent back to
alum school. I always thought the first lesson was highlight everything
good (real and imagined) about old alma mater, and overlook anything bad. A
few have even labeled our alums as arrogant. The horror !

I always thought the Evil Empire's problem was that those alumni were not
only arrogant, but thought the game of football was created, perfected and
currently only played at ND. Problem is, there has not been much meaningful
football played there in years.

Harry,

I agree, all neutral fans should have been pulling for Butler.

My dislike of Duke has little to do with their basketball success and A LOT
to
do with their arrogant alumni. They are the Notre Dame of the south.

To your point though, they have proven that the can maintain academics and
compete in basketball, which seems to be a beyond Northwestern's reach.

Go Cats!
Jim

Sure I wanted the Bulldogs to win. What neutral fan wouldn't ? But let's
not
compare the Dookies to the Cranks or Lakers who only get where they have
been
(or are) because they play in large markets and know how to spend their
wealth
well. Sure Duke spends their wealth well but they also do what few others
can
do ;namely be one of the best in academics and hoops as well. Unless
someone
out there can tell me what Duke is doing improperly I will guess its just
jealousy on those that harbor the same ill will on duke that they reserve
for
the yankees and lakers

Well, it appears I used up all my sports prayers/karma on the Super Bowl
this
year.:)

And I guess I should be thankful for that ... because it sure has been a
bummer
with the "Evil Empire Strikes Back" theme this year in sports ... A-Roid and
the
Yankees, "8-Karat" Kobe and the Lakers, Nick the Slick and Bama, Coach
Zebras-Best-Friend and the Dookies ... Smug Geno and UConn tomorrow night
...
ugh. (If golf were a sport, you could throw in Mr. Chatty and his made-up
addiction who seems to have Brett Favre disease right now and WON'T GET OFF
MY
DANG TELEVISION WHILE I'M TRYING TO WATCH SPORTS HIGHLIGHTS ... )

Guess outside of Hollywood, Goliath really does win.
Still feels icky.

But I can't complain too much ... I don't care if the Dookies get another
cushy
draw and win the next 20 tourneys or the B(C)S divides up their next decade
between SEC ego-dictators in Slick Nick and St. Urban ... I'm still on Cloud
#9
from Miami. Good to see a guy like Drew Brees and the underdogs win once
this
year ... may be the only time the lil' guys win one in awhile.:(

And that one game allows me to cling to the belief that one of these days,
we
will see Coach Fitzgerald hoisting the Rose Bowl trophy as well and finish
that
1995 fairy tale finish.

Great game, great tourney ... just heartbroken at the ending.

Oh well, the long dry season begins ... how many days until kickoff?:)

GO CATS!!!

Agonizing loss--I feel almost as numb as I did after Fumblerooski at the
Outback. Two great looks for Heyward, but nothing falls for the "LIttle
Engine
That Could" at the end. No knock on Bill Carmody, but I would give Coach
Stevens the President's House at NU and half of Pat Ryan's fortune to come
coach
the 'Cats--but it ain't gonna happen. He is the hoops version of Fitz--a
baby-faced assasin of a coach. They played a great game, but never could
get
over the hump to actually hold the lead once they had it. It's tough to
play
from behind virtually all night--no margin for error.

Kudos to the Bulldogs--they are a great team--and they have 2 Academic
All-Americans as starters. Looking at Duke's fans, all I could think about
is
how nice it usually is to kick their a-- in football.:-)

Oh well, as I said a week ago, our slogan for next year has to be "Why not
us?"

I've got ten bucks for anyone in the crowd who has an "Our Hickory Won't
Crack"
sign.

Go Bulldogs!!! PLEASE!!! SO sick of the ACC and Dookies - especially after
their

cushy road to Indy. Go Butler!!!

GO CATS!!!
