> Yeah, both my teams lost yesterday in games they were in position to win late in the fourth quarter, losing because of pivotal, frustrating plays. Still, I'm not devastated and even optimistic looking forward.
Same here, both NU and Nebraska lost in the last minute with several failed
opportunities to put the game away, and I'm still frustrated over the
Bears-Packers game from last Sunday. (That snap to the up-back in punt
formation doomed them.)
But I have to admit that when the Cats were down 17-0, I was worried they'd
never close the gap, much less be leading and in a position to win late in
the game. The Cardiac Cats have won more than their share of close games,
I suppose the laws of probability say we have to lose some of them too.
The Minnesota will be an interesting test and one that will show which
team wants be a factor in the Big 10 this year and which will just be
hoping to limp to a pre-Christmas bowl game.
I'm still waiting for Fitz to have what I would call a 'signature' win,
but I'm not sure Randy Walker ever had one either. (Fitz's teams remind
me a lot of RW's teams, a smattering of really talented players with
a few strong areas and a few weak ones, but never reaching the level of
greatness or overachievement that we saw under GB.)
