Just as a point of reference.
We webcast the first 25 games of the Little League Senior Softball World
Series, charging $6 per game or $30 for the entire series.
We sold over $3,500 in PPV subscriptions for just this little event, and
people are still signing up and paying to download the games.
PPV is the way to go, altho I think the price at $30 is a little steep. Then
again, flying to Syracuse for the game would cost a hell of a lot more,
wouldn't it.

If that's really what you want, then pay-per-view is probably the long
term solution, and that's where the Big 10 Network has us headed, IMHO.
Nebraska's first three home games are all on PPV this year, at $29.95 per
game.
I've been told that Nebraska makes quite a tidy profit from those PPV
games, and I think that's above and beyond the guaranteed conference TV
payments.
Those games are all against Sun Belt conference teams (Florida Atlantic,
Arkansas State and and Louisiana-Lafayette), so I don't imagine ABC or Fox
was all that interested in them, since the Huskers aren't a top 5 team.
(If Texas played those 3 schools, I bet they'd all be on TV.)
