So much for the six quarters of quality football.

I dunno what happened at the half, but we came out winded on defense and sloppy on offense. We were lucky to win.

Good to be 2-0. But we need some major improvement before Syracuse next week.

About the only good thing in the second half was our special teams - both in return/field position and in Demos' kick at the end.

As for the rest of the early games, they may not have LOOKED like good games on paper, but ...

* INDIANA held on to beat Western Michigan
* The third time was the charm, though, for weather vane Michigan schools as Central Michigan knicked MSU in a heck of a finish. The big question now is whether this is the Sparty of old (or Illini of present) where one tough loss can cascade into an avalanche of defeat.
* IOWA, however, woke up. Ouch.
* PENN STATE didn't exactly blow 'Cuse away, but won handily.
* Finally, WISCONSIN survives a second week over a pesky Bulldog bunch. 

So seeing how some of those other games finished, maybe we should feel lucky.:) Nah, still ticked off and hopefully Fitz and the Cats are as well. They know they let a game they were coasting in nearly get away. That should hopefully get them focused and fired up as we hit the road.

As for the rest of the afternoon, now the feast begins ... Maize & Blue vs. the Golden Domers and OSU-SC (plus what should be an interesting game outdoors in Minneapolis). Enjoy!
