Wow, you guys really had a bad SA experience.:) I've been to Houston and San Antonio and have the opposite view -- I can see no earthly reason to ever have to visit Houston again.

I think that -- one again -- Phoenix is the big winner here. They are the only ones to emerge from the B(C)S mess for the better and this deal should pump up the Tempe bowl with a better matchup and bigger names.
Tempe ran the Fiesta Bowl extremely well and they do with this as well - they'll try and have it Dec. 31 as much as possible as Tempe has a huge New Year's Eve blowout by their "lake" -- all is within walking distance of the stadium and the Mill Avenue restaurants/bars. And Phoenix should have wonderful weather then.

Sure hope so.

Well, we agree here. But as I've said before, the Rose Bowl is slowly being destroyed by the B(C)S -- and the new rule forcing it to take a Boise State or Utah is just the latest attempt to destroy that Big Ten/Pac 10 tradition. A couple years of that and we'll start hearing how unfair it is that they always get the Jan. 1 afternoon slot and they'll be moved into the rotation or have to share it with the Jerry Jones Bowl.
