Read some of the articles on the Bowl talk.? Does anyone have any thoughts on the likely Bowl switches ?? Out for the Alamo and Champs, in for the Gator and Texas ?

I will miss San Antonio, always a great town to visit.? I have not spent a lot of time in Jacksonville, but I remember their recent Super Bowl had some less-than-nice weather.? Champs was only here for a few years, and we already have an Orlando presence.? Houston seems like a nice addition.? Other than lousy traffic, it is a nice city to visit, and Galveston and Padre Island/Corpus Christi are a short drive away.

Reading about the Holiday Bowl 'dropping a notch' is kind of sad - I attended a Holiday Bowl one year, and few places are nicer than San Diego in December.

In an interesting note - the college football guy on KFAN in Minneapolis was touting the Gophers this morning, but he only predicted a 7-5 finish for them, due to a tough schedule.? He mentioned that Penn State and Ohio State were the obvious favorites, but mentioned Northwestern as a sleepr choice.

As for the bowl game, the Big East has been working with Yankee officials to
get a bowl game certified for the new Yankee Stadium.  If that doesn't
happen, expect it to move to the new Giants Stadium.  The league wants a
bowl game in New York because they are trying to build up college football
in NYC and  think a bowl game in NYC will attract media attention.  I rather
doubt it if the Giants are still in the playoffs.  If not, then it probably
will attract some attention, especially if the Rangers aren't playing so
hot.

One of the new commissioner's goals is to change the mix and raise the
profile of the Big East's bowl games and he sees this as one possibility.
The Big Ten is seen as the best opponent both geographically and for media
attention.

As for NU playing a home game in Yankee Stadium, I don't know that it was
ever proposed that NU give up a home game.  Both 'cuse and Army are playing
home games there so I would think it would be a Syracuse home game not a NU
home game that we would be playing.  It would just mean a higher, much
higher, guarantee for NU to play the game, or perhaps, a split of the gate
instead of a guarantee.
