A compliance officer is a requirement for a Division I school.
Grumbling by one or two players would not impress the NCAA or the Big Ten.
It's when the number grows to 7 and their stories are remarkably
consistent, even among those that have transferred out that the NCAA and the
Big Ten get interested. That's what has happened and that's why it may not
be something that can be brushed off with the idea that it's just fallout
from a new coach, even if that is all that it really is. Sometimes,
grumbling turns into NCAA violations.
