The only trouble RichRod will be in is if his team continues to perform
poorly on the field.
No one expects them to win the BT this year, but they do expect
significant improvement over last year with a lot of underclassmen
playing and some glimmers of hope from this recruiting class.

Well, there's rumblings in Evanston and then there's rumblings in Ann
Arbor and a bubbling NCAA investigation to go with it.
To me this seems more like the changeover at Nebraska -- a successful
program that wanted a bit more so it brought in someone new ... someone
with people skills somewhat lacking and who suffered some losing seasons
in the transition. That's a tough enough task in Lincoln or Ann Arbor
... but now RichRod has NCAA scandal talk dogging the program too.
The Huskers are just now starting to emerge from those rough transition
years (and that's mostly because of a favorable Big XII structure that
has UNL as a title game favorite even though they'd likely finish in the
upper-middle of the pack if all teams were together).
Part of this is players griping about changes ... but a big part of this
is also RichRod rubbing the establishment in Ann Arbor the wrong way.
And while college coaches can pretty much treat their players however
they want, ticking off the alumni and boosters is not a recipe for
long-term survival.
