ESPN is now reporting that Eric Decker will miss the rest of regular season with a sprained left foot. If he'd have missed our game, we may well have won. However, he's an outstanding college player and I hate to see his career end on crutches.
This will have an impact on Minnesota's bowl hopes too. Their remaining games are: MSU, Illinois, South Dakota State, and @Iowa. Without Decker I would expect them to lose to MSU and Iowa. He has been responsible for over 50% of their offense, so this may open the door for an upset by one of the other two and actually keep the Gophers from getting 6 wins. It's unlikely, but possible.
And the Hawkeyes are without RB Adam Robinson for the rest of the year. They'll be relying on a true freshman Brandon Wegher - although he has played an already has 300+ yards this year.
Go Cats!
Jim
