[NU Sports] Penn State and Bowl hopes

Actually, Fitz is doing about as well as RW was doing and I don't seem to remember any talk of
dumping him right before he died.

Anyway, the seniors this year are essentially Randy's last class - the rest of the kids are
truly Fitz' and how they perform down the road will set the tone for the future Fitz led
Wildcats.

As we raise the level of players coming in again, we have the problem that when one of them gets
hurt because he is playing a year or two early, we have to fall back on a kid who probably
wouldn't be recruited now. We also will be dealing with kids in their first 2 years of college
ball who in normal situations would sit out until they are Redshirt Juniors (the way they do at
many other Div I schools.) 

Naw, Fitz is doing fine - he's got to start winning with kids that came to NU to play for him,
not someone else. Just hang in there - we're playing .500 ball with a mixed bag of upper and
lower classmen. Wait until we start letting the kids learn the system for 3 years.

Unless there's a major scandal, Fitz gets 20 years minimum. Heck, I'd give him a lifetime
contract right now.

He **IS** Northwestern. He **IS** our JoePa.

Thankfully our new president seems to get that.

In his first three seasons, he improved by 3 wins each year. This year is a setback, but
considering that we lost our entire offensive skill set to graduation and most of our defensive
leaders have been injured part or all of the year, getting to six wins for a third straight
season would be a very good job.

Fitz has more than proven himself to be a Northwestern Man through and through -- I don't want
to hear even a whisper of otherwise until 2030!:)
