Fellow Wildcat Faithful,

A win is a win, but I cannot mask my disappointment that they spotted Indiana 21 points before they took the game seriously.

So now we are 5-3. I think NU is now on a new post-season watch list that I call 'bowl questionable'. We may get to 6-6, but I'm not sure we're having a bowl-worthy season. Still, if we sneak in to Detroit - I'll take it.

We always leave a win on the field (Syracuse this year) and we always steal one that we shouldn't have won. I expect that will still happen in one of our remaining games. Penn State could be a trap game since it's post-Michigan and pre-Ohio State for them. On the road at Iowa seems less likely. If we are 6-5 going into the Wisconsin game knowing that it's for a post-season appearance then we may pull out all the stops and steal one from the Badgers.

Looking at the bottom half of the conference:
- I assume Purdue, Indiana, and Illinois will not get to 6 wins, but Purdue and Indiana certainly could.
- 4-4 MSU has @Minnesota, Western Michigan, @Purdue, Penn State.
- 4-4 Minnesota has MSU, Illinois, South Dakota State, @Iowa.

So it's possible that the Big Ten could have anywhere from three to five teams at 6-6 at the end of the year. We need our annual upset so that we will not be one of them.

Victory & Honor,
Jim
