I agree, this season still has a ways to go. Getting within one win of bowl
eligibility was essential at this point to have any hope of postseason play
down the stretch, and with Illinois in full collapse mode one can definitely
see a 6th win there.
One thing that some mentioned at the game was that NU hasn't really played a
"complete game" all season against FBS/I-A competition. There's basically
always been a relatively inexplicable period of time in each game,
especially for the defense (1st quarter vs. Syracuse, most of 1st half vs
Purdue, 3rd quarter vs MSU, most of 1st half vs Indiana). If NU could put
together a "complete game" who knows what they're capable of (remembering
they've basically been "in" every game this year).
PSU and Iowa will be VERY tough games, but I suspect that at least one of
them will be a lot closer than many expect.
